The Naperville Police Foundation (NPF) is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) created to advance public awareness of police programs, enhance community engagement, and nurture the health of the NPD.
The NPF board meets on a quarterly basis to strategize community engagement and allocation of funds donated to the foundation. We do NOT contribute to department compensation, overtime, or items that are covered under the city budget.
The Naperville Police Foundation is dedicated to advancing efforts to generate community support for and in cooperation with the Naperville Police Department. The Foundation raises awareness and financial support for any ancillary needs, including but not limited to collaborative community initiatives, and wellness programs for officers and their families.
The Foundation is a non-partisian 501c3 organization working in partnership with the Naperville Police Dept.

National Police Week | Week of May 15
National Police Week 2023 is May 15-21. NPD will be having its Peace Officer Memorial Observance at the public safety wall on Monday, May 15 at 10:00 AM. This is short ceremony to honor law enforcement officers who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty.

In 2018, Joe sold both businesses to Cars.com in Chicago’s largest acquisition of the year, and he continues to lead their growth and innovation today as CEO. Joe’s passion is using his leadership and health and fitness experiences to help others achieve their goals, as well as give back to local children and families in need through his charitable work and philanthropy.
Kim White moved to Naperville in 2005. She is the Executive Director of the Career & Networking Center and serves on several non-profit boards. Kim has a deep appreciation for the women and men who honorably serve to protect our country and our communities. Her dad served in the Army and her father-in-law was a Marine and a 28 year veteran of the Kansas City, MO Police Department. Kim and her husband, Benny (a 22 year Army veteran) have two adult children.
Lisa Murtaugh (formerly Gangi) is a 14-year resident of Naperville and a lifelong supporter of first responders. Lisa has served myriad nonprofits and service organizations, donating hundreds of professional hours each year, and was a 5-year member and officer of Naperville CAPS. The opportunity to further edify the public, and support and celebrate the Naperville Police Department, drew Lisa to serve with her estimable fellow citizens on the NPF Board of Directors.
John Miller, a 25 year Naperville resident has served on the boards of (Little Friends Center for Autism, Naperville Education Foundation, The Rotary Club). John is honored to work with talented and energetic board members to create a positive impact supporting the Naperville Police who protect and serve our community. 38 years as a CPA and is a partner of the National Firm of WipFli. John lives with his wife Amy. They have 7 children and 3 grandchildren.
Kaylin Risvold is a Naperville native and has always been focused on giving back to the community. She is currently the President & CEO of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce. Kaylin is excited to join this diverse group of leaders working to support those who make our community a safe place to live and work. She currently lives in Naperville with her husband John, and their three children.
Diana Torres Hawken is a community volunteer. She currently serves on the City of Naperville Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission and is a Steering Member of Nuestro Futuro (”Our Future,” which is the largest affinity fund servicing Latinx communities housed at The Chicago Community Trust). She is also serving on the Boards of AAUW Naperville Area, NEF and Maplebrook School Home & School Association. Previously she was on the Parent Board of Directors at Hobson Cooperative Preschool and Board Chairman and Member of the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board. Diana holds an M.A. in Sociology from the University of South Florida and a B.A. in English and Sociology from Kenyon College. She lives in Naperville with her spouse, Jamie, and their three children. She was born in Colombia (South America) and is fluent in Spanish.
Nina M. Menis grew up in Naperville and has worked for P-20 educational institutions and nonprofit organizations for over 30 years. She directs the Annual Giving program at College of DuPage, serves on the Board of the Naperville Public Library, and is a member of The Rotary Club of Naperville. Nina and her husband Mark enjoyed raising their two children in Naperville. Nina is grateful for the opportunity to serve with such a dedicated group of Naperville leaders in support of an important mission.

Jason began his career at the Naperville Police Department as a patrol officer in 2001. He served as an undercover detective for the Special Enforcement Unit, a detective in the Intelligence Unit, and a member of the Department’s Special Response Team and the ILEAS Region 4 Weapons of Mass Destruction Team. Jason has held the positions of patrol, K-9 and administrative sergeant as well as patrol and professional standards commander. As a deputy chief, he led both the investigations and patrol divisions and oversaw Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) dispatch center. He was sworn in as chief of police for the Naperville Police Department on November 10, 2021.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration from Lewis University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia; the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety’s School of Police Staff and Command; and the International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations school. Jason is happily married and the proud father of two daughters.
